Cute kids and cute animals—it sounds like the perfect combination, right? Shelby County Schools and the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County sure think so.
Each week, SCS elementary students will be showing off their reading skills in front of the camera while highlighting adoptable dogs and cats from the Humane Society. The goal is to reward students for their hard work, as they practice their reading and help homeless pets find their forever homes.
This week Belle Forest Community School 2nd grader Lorin Phillips and 5th grader Daila Taylor introduce us to Cola.
This is Cola, and he is a two and a half year old retriever mix. Just like his name suggests, he is super sweet, and he has a bubbly personality. Cola gets along very well with children and other dogs. He does have a severe food allergy, and he has to be on a very specific diet or all of his beautiful fur will come off. Cola loves to play in the yard, chase tennis balls, and get belly rubs. Will you be the perfect home for Cola?
If you are interested in adopting Cola, visit the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County’s website or give them a call at (901) 937-3900.
